The Caldea thermal leisure centre opened its doors in March 1994. The project was designed by the French architect Jean-Michel Ruols, the result of the desire of the Comú de Escaldes-Engordany to use the wealth of thermal waters in its territory with a philosophy different from that of traditional spas: thermal leisure. The concept was totally innovative and avoids the therapeutic use of thermal waters.

The Thermoludic is the jewel of Caldea and the largest space in this innovative thermal centre.
